True Conservation Agriculture with DTS Strip-Till Technology

The NEW Sumo DTS® combines targeted soil restructuring with precise seed placement in a single pass. Soil is loosened directly beneath the seed row while remaining consolidated around each seed, promoting strong crop establishment while maintaining valuable surface residues.

This strip-till approach supports regenerative farming by improving soil structure, protecting soil biology, and minimising unnecessary disturbance. Large areas can be drilled quickly in one pass, while improving soil aggregation, drainage and reducing erosion.

Because the majority of soil between rows remains undisturbed, worm populations and organic matter levels increase, improving soil fertility and helping retain moisture for emerging crops. Over time, strip-tilling directly into stubble can reduce the need for deeper cultivations as soil structure, drainage and load-bearing capacity naturally improve.

The DTS coulters are independently mounted and controlled by a constant flow-pressurised hydraulic system, ensuring excellent contour following and highly consistent seed placement. Each coulter performs multiple tasks in a single pass: seedbed preparation, drilling and fertilising, followed by reconsolidation.

The DTS is equally effective drilling into stubble or green cover crops, maintaining root structure while evenly managing surface residues.

A uniquely versatile drill, the DTS is capable of direct drilling, minimum-till drilling and conventional plough-based establishment. Designed and manufactured in Britain, it features Sumo's Orga metering unit, delivering accurate seed and fertiliser application across a wide range of crops and rates.
